I’m Sonya Meagor and I started eco cuisine back in 2009.When covid-19 started, I lost all my business, as being a corporate caterer we didn't have any venues open for the type of events that we catererd. I moved back to the homeland which I had wanted to do for a long time and have now started Sonny's Cornish kitchen to cater for private events, weddings, funerals, parties.
I’m a Cornish maid, originally from Penpol, near Truro and I visited the homeland on a regular basis but now I'm back home and live in Truro.
I support Cornwall rugby, Cornish Pirates and the Exeter Chiefs. I admit to being a Chelsea supporter when it comes to football though.
PHILOSOPHY
My background is book-keeping but I always had a passion for cooking and food generally plus my views on animal welfare have shaped the direction of the business.
Sourcing produce from British producers and free-range meats from Perranarworthal, fish from day boats out of St Mawes from Rob Wing, fruit and vegetables from Juliette's.
I’m a supporter of Compassion in World farming, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and Peta.
My other passion is for the environment which has shaped our sustainability policy.
